Dear Friends,
It’s been an unbelievable two weeks at BFL, crowned today by the opening of our new Northern Beit Achim, made possible by our incredible BFL partners, Bob and Amy Book. (We love you!).
For our 250+ members and their families living in Haifa and the Galil, it’s practically half a day of driving to get to our existing Beit Achim near Ben Gurion airport. All that is changed today, as we have rented a beautiful place in Kibbutz Alonim, just 15 minutes south of Haifa. One of the most amazing things about the new Northern Beit Achim is that much of the building and landscaping was done by our members in the North – a labor of love.
The Beit Achim looks and feels like a home but is a place where members come for rehabilitation, therapy, alternative medical treatments, mentoring, classes, and workshops. Most importantly, it’s a safe place for healing. A sanctuary of belonging with no judgment, where miracles will take place for our members. It’s hard to describe how exciting this is for injured IDF soldiers living in the North.
In other news, we had an incredible delegation to Miami – thanks to Dan Nir and Jill Braufman and our fantastic host families – and soldier healing delegations left this week for Melbourne and Johannesburg.
Additionally, we have two BFL brothers who are currently in Orlando, Florida being fitted with new prosthetic legs. Honestly, these are just a few of the highlights of the last two weeks. What is happening today at BFL is simply amazing.
