Dear Friends,
I am humbled to report that we just had three amazing delegations come back to Israel with lives changed.
The first was a prosthetic delegation where three of our brothers who are amputees traveled to Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates, a renowned clinic in Orlando, Florida where they were fitted with new prosthetics. They left Israel in pain and returned with the ability to run! Shmuel Lankri said it all: “I never thought I will be able to run again, what an incredible feeling to actually run! Thank you BFL for making dreams come true.”
The second was a PTSD trek to Montenegro. Without going into details about the nature of the trek, I will simply share with you the words of one of the 12 participants, Jonathan Fox, who has a new view on his life. ” I want to start and say to you and this amazing organization – Thank You! The journey to Montenegro was much more than a milestone for me. I came to this delegation numb, except for the fear of what kind of wounds it could open. This fear became an experience of a lifetime! The nature, the brothers, the mentors and BFL, created an environment that allowed me to open up and share my story with other brothers like me, and even cry. Tears and laughter – all combined, helped me learn more about myself and my friends. Thank you for this amazing opportunity. “
Lastly, we had an amazing delegation to Toronto. The Jewish community there gave our brothers so much love and they gave it right back. During the trip we had the privilege to visit a Jewish camp of over 400 campers who literally cheered and waved Israeli flags as our soldiers walked into the camp. It was such a high.
Ben Gurion once said, if you want to be a realist in Israel, you have to believe in miracles. We say, if you want to understand the power of Brothers for Life, you have to get used to seeing miracles every week.
