Dear Families,
To all of our US partners, from all of us in Israel, we hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
This Sunday night marks the beginning of possibly the most important holiday in the Jewish Diasporah. Interestingly, on every draidle outside of Israel there is written the acronym “Nes gadol haya sham”- a great miracle happened there”. Whereas in Israel the letters on the draidle reads “Nes gadol hayah poh.” A great miracle happened here!
If anything defines BFL it’s the word “miracle”. One of the events coming in the spring that embodies this word Is the Iron Brother, which spans the entire length of the country.
Beginning March 28th, after months of training over 200 of our injured soldiers run, bike, kayak, and swim the entire length of Israel, from Mount Hermon to Eilat, in three days. For many of us, this training has literally kept us going and has given us something to live for. Some of our brothers who are competing and who are missing limbs or using prosthetics wondered if they would ever be able to walk again, let alone compete in a 555 km challenge. Today they fly! However, there is only one thing missing from this challenge…..YOU!
We are inviting you, this March 27th- March 31st, our beloved BFL friends and family, to be a part of this miracle. We know from last year’s race that this experience is life changing. As we challenged ourselves, we shared love and a sense of togetherness is hard to put into words. Please join us this year and run or bike with us shoulder to shoulder. As we enter Chanukah I can tell you that for all of us at BFL this year twice we will say with full hearts, “A great miracle happened here!” Please join us!
