The Financial Aid Fund provides immediate aid that makes a critical difference in the recovery of our injured veterans. It provides them with financial, medical, educational, and legal support not provided by any other institution or agency. Often this support is for such basics as rent, food, and medical care.
The Fund also runs a Financial Counseling Program, where BFL mentors with financial backgrounds help injured veterans and their families stay out of debt and better manage their finances. Most financial aid recipients receive this mentoring to help insure sustainable financial independence. In addition, qualified members who work with a BFL financial counselor can apply for a special no-interest loan of up to $10,000.
