Something Amazing in Chicago

Something Amazing in Chicago

Dear friends,

Eleven of our soldiers are in Chicago this week for our first ever BFL Chicago delegation!  I want to thank our fantastic Chicago host families who have adopted our brothers, five of which are new members who were injured last summer in Tzuk Eitan.

As you know, one of  the most meaningful moments of any delegation is the time we spend with our beloved Holocaust survivors, the true heroes of the Jewish People.   This weeks meeting was a bit different.  Pictured below is an amazing couple,  Dovi and Tova who have been married for over sixty years.

Not only did Dovi and Tova survive the Holocaust but they made it to Israel and fought in the Hagana and the War of Independence.  This is the story of the Jewish nation, survivors of the holocaust who went on to sacrifice everything to establish the State of Israel for the rest of us.  What is incredible is that we met them in Chicago.

After the meeting we could not let Dovi and Tova go, we insisted they join us for lunch at a local restaurant and every moment with them was more precious than diamonds.

As you can see from the photo what they have been through together has forged a bond of love that can never be broken.

Netzach Yisrael Lo Yishaker- The Jewish People are Eternal!

Shabbat Shalom,
