HOW WE CHANGE LIVES

Soldier-to-Soldier Programs

“Sports saved my life. Physical activities helped me to find capabilities in my body and mind that I wasn’t even aware I had.” – Achiya

Soldier-to-Solider programs are built on Brothers for Life’s unique model of “injured soldiers helping injured soldiers.” Each of the initiatives is designed to help in the rehabilitation process. A sample of these programs include:

Sports Programs – Our soldiers protected Israel as members of combat teams, with each member looking out for the welfare of the other. Our sports programs tap into that same deeply caring mindset, using team sports as a means for participants to assist in each other’s emotional and physical rehabilitation.

Music Project — Music creates inner calm, and provides an effective reset for soldiers with PTSD. Through music therapy, soldiers learn to access this calm before, during, and after their PTSD triggers. Brothers for Life has partnered with the Rimon School of Music in developing and providing this effective form of therapy.

Workshops and Courses — Every month BFL brings together 25 to 150 injured soldiers from all over the country for a workshop retreat. These one to three-day events give soldiers a respite from stress, and focus on group bonding and emotional healing.
