We Just finished our second delegation to the Jewish community of Hong Kong. It was so meaningful both for the community and our brothers to share their personal stories, love of Israel, and love of Judaism with so many Jewish kids living in Asia.
One of the of soldiers who participated in the delegation is Eli Samara. Eli is 34 years old, and served in the Nahal Brigade. He made Aliyah from Argentina when he was 17 years old, so he could join IDF and serve as a lone soldier. In 2002, during operation Defensive Shield, Eli and his team took control of a 4-floor building where terrorists were hiding. During the operation to clear the building, Eli was shot and severely injured to his arm. He underwent a serious operation, but his arm remained paralyzed. We are proud to have him as a member of our family.
I just spoke to Eli, and he told me the delegation was one of the most meaningful weeks in his life.
Thank you to the host families and everyone who helped make this incredible delegation happen for Eli and his 11 brothers. They came back so much stronger.
Shabbat Shalom from Israel,
