Brothers for Life has its own special melody. music that is not made of musical notes but composed by people, special people.
In summer 2012 we established our second music project, a band of six BFL members who chose an interesting name: The Scarecrows. Why “Scarecrows”? Because Scarecrows stay alone in the field and have one purpose- to protect. In their words, “Like scarecrows in the middle of the wide open field, trying to hold our ground, we watch and understand each other as only we know; surrounded by green but grounded, jealous of birds for their flight but aiming higher and farther.”
On Tuesday, as we do every few months, a dinner was held at the Beit Achim in honor of the new wounded soldiers who have recently joined BFL. The evening, which was made even more special by Rabbi Chaim also being present, was amazing and very exciting for all of us, especially for the new wounded soldiers that are now part of the family. The photos below say everything.
Shabbat Shalom from Israel,
